Bicycle Design
A bicycle design company
that takes a bike from brief to production
Ride target, geometry, structural simulation, wind tunnel, production — we take the whole cycle, not just a render.
What a bicycle design
company actually does
Six stages. Take them as a package, or take the one you are missing.
01 Ride target
Who rides it, where, and for how long — decided before geometry. Stack, reach, wheelbase, head angle and trail set whether the bike is stable or eager.
02 Structure
Frame, fork, seatpost, cockpit and wheelset: structural design and tolerance stack-up, balancing stiffness, strength and manufacturability.
03 Simulation
FEA for strength, fatigue and stiffness distribution. Finding the risk before tooling is far cheaper than finding it after.
04 Aerodynamics
CFD to screen options, wind tunnel where it matters. Aero is measurable, and therefore negotiable.
05 Production
Material and process selection, tooling, supplier liaison, acceptance criteria. We work with manufacturing partners long-term and know where drawings lose fidelity.
06 Product line
Size range, spec ladder, colourways and naming — planned together, so the next model does not start from zero.
How a project
moves forward
Four stages, each with something you can inspect — not an open-ended "in progress".
Stage 1 · Define
Interviews, competitor teardown, target parameter sheet. Output: product brief and first geometry direction.
Stage 2 · Design
Form and structure in parallel, simulation alongside. Output: geometry table, 3D model, simulation report.
Stage 3 · Validate
Prototypes and testing, tunnel or on-road. Output: measured data and a revision log.
Stage 4 · Production
Tooling sign-off, first-article inspection, batch follow-up. Output: production drawings, acceptance criteria, batch records.
Who comes to us
Teams building a house brand: distribution and rider insight in place, engineering from concept to production missing.
Brands iterating an existing line: a model sells, but nobody can explain why — time to define it properly.
Material and component suppliers: a process advantage that needs translating into product value at bike level.
Race and club projects: equipment built around a specific course and a specific rider.
Questions we get asked
We design. Manufacturing runs through long-term partners; we handle liaison, inspection and production follow-up. That is how a two-person team can follow a project end to end.
Yes — frame, fork, wheelset or spokes can be scoped on their own: structure, simulation and production consulting.
It depends on scope and validation depth. Brief to prototype is measured in months; production is separate. We confirm a schedule after assessment rather than promising one up front.
By stage and workload — design, simulation and testing are quoted separately. We do not quote online; contact us directly.
