Custom Frame Design
Custom bicycle frame design:
geometry first, materials second
The hard part of a custom frame is not whether it can be built — it is what it is built around. We turn body data, riding scenario and intended character into a set of geometry numbers before discussing material.
What is actually
being customised
Not a size chart scaled up or down — a translation of how you ride into manufacturable numbers.
Stack / reach
Sets torso position and weight distribution. Miss by 10 mm and no stem or seatpost will correct it.
Wheelbase & chainstay
Acceleration response and tracking stability. This is where a climber and a long-distance bike part ways.
Head angle & trail
The core of handling feel. Two bikes with similar angles and different trail corner with completely different confidence.
BB drop & seat angle
Pedalling efficiency and seated position — computed together with crank length and saddle position.
Tyre clearance
Determines how wide you can go. Today this affects use case more than frame weight does.
Material & process
Carbon layup, metal tubes or a mixed structure — traded against weight, stiffness, durability and budget rather than treated as an ideology.
The process
Data first, prototype validation, then manufacturing.
01 Data & goals
Body data, current setup, riding scenario, discomforts. Output: requirement record and target parameter range.
02 Geometry options
Two or three geometry variants with the handling and comfort differences spelled out. Output: geometry table and recommendation.
03 Structure & drawings
Tube shapes, layup or tubing selected, simulation-checked. Output: manufacturable 3D model and engineering drawings.
04 Prototype & sign-off
Build, real riding feedback, revisions where needed. Output: acceptance record and final specification.

Questions we get asked
Sizing picks the closest of a few discrete options. Custom computes parameters directly from your measurements and goals. The difference shows up in position, handling and long-ride comfort.
No. A frame alone is fine, or the frame plus fork, stem and seatpost so the whole setup is coherent.
Yes. We deliver manufacturable drawings and a specification; your nominated factory builds to them, and we handle technical liaison and acceptance criteria.
Quoted by stage — geometry, structural design, prototype validation. Confirmed per project; we do not quote online.
